AECOM is seeking an experienced Project Controller to support a water treatment plant rehabilitation project in Northern California. The Project Controller plays an integral role in ensuring all assigned client projects succeed in attaining their financial, schedule, and performance targets as defined by the client contract and internal AECOM expectations. This person will have the opportunity to be engaged in numerous projects being delivered by our Rocky Mountain Team, including many large, impactful projects that are located throughout the United States.
Responsibilities may include:

- Able to prioritize and meet requirements of multiple competing project demands.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work ?with teams.
- Requires a demonstrated ability to effectively lead the project controls function on both small and large projects for a large portfolio of projects and multiple project managers.
- Reviews performance trends, prepares analysis and cost impact and monthly project performance reports, and recommends contractor invoices for approval.
- Prepare regular cost reports which include tracking actual costs as well as committed costs for subs/vendors against budgets. Update forecasts based on progress assessed thru earned value, discussions with project team and other tools.
- Establish project budgets from proposal estimate, assist Project Manager with project setup and execution.
- Coordinate with other project personnel to develop effective Work Breakdown structures.
- Effectively communicate the results of budget, cost and schedule analyses with PM and other project leaders. Identify issues, successes, and develop project recovery plans when required.
- Lead meetings with internal project teams, Project Approvers and Finance & Accounting.
- Assist Project Managers by working with procurement to establish purchase orders and subcontract agreements. Monitoring subcontractor or vendor spending against their commitments and budget and raising any issues or concerns. Complete payment release paperwork and track to ensure payment is released to subs per payment terms.
- Knowledge of or willing to learn basic Federal Contract Requirements to assist Project Managers on federal contracts.
- Liaise with subcontractors regarding progress, schedules, contract administration, etc.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators, such as earned value, cost and schedule performance, estimate to completion, and project end dates.
- Monitor and proactively track unbilled, invoicing, and aged AR and report to management.
- Maintain excellent data quality metrics including forecast end dates and quarterly/monthly estimates to completion.
- Review client invoices for accuracy and establish invoice schedules determined by the contracting terms.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports for internal and external clients.
- Read and understand client contracts and subcontracts; particularly as related to scope, schedule, budget, and risk. Coordinate with project manager to ensure all procedures are in place to meet contractual requirements.
- Communicate with clients about invoicing, payment, contract, and reporting requirements.
